Unilever named Cannes Lions Creative Marketer of the Year

The Cannes Lions has designated Unilever, the consumer goods giant, as the 2024 Creative Marketer of the Year. This recognition, according to a press release, is bestowed upon a marketer that has accumulated a portfolio of iconic, award-winning work over a sustained period.

In 2023, the title was conferred upon the alcoholic beverage company AB InBev.

Unilever last received the honor of Creative Marketer of the Year in 2010. In the previous year’s Cannes Lions, Unilever garnered awards across multiple brands including Dove, Hellmann’s, Dirt Is Good (known as Persil, Skip, and OMO), Magnum, Vaseline, Marmite, and Pot Noodle.

The Creative Marketer of the Year award was established in 1992, with previous recipients including AB InBev, Apple, Burger King, Coca-Cola, Google, Heineken, IKEA, Mars, McDonald’s, Samsung, and Microsoft.
